With my graffiti ‘Turn’ I support the Museum of Life ‘Biotopia’

19/08/2019

Due to the positive experiences I have every year at the auctions of the graffiti lions painted by Isabella Marowski and myself at the Summerjam Festival, I have decided to regularly donate my art to good causes and thus make a positive difference in the world.

This time I would like to donate the auction proceeds to the museum ‘Biotopia’. The mission of BIOTOPIA is to explore, scrutinise and redesign relationships between humans and other living beings.

The graffiti style ‘Turn’ is a work from 2011 that I created using a special technique: ‘graffcraft’, a combination of graffiti and craftsmanship. I sawed the graffiti letters and the background out of MDF wood panels, then primed them and painted everything with a graffiti masking technique. Spray cans decorate the artwork around the graffiti lettering and give the impression that the letters are being sprayed.

The graffiti style ‘Turn’ is on loan from the graffiti shop of the same name ‘Turn’ in Essen. In 2018, the owner and the name of the graffiti shop changed to ‘Krazy8’. I took my artwork back and decided that this was a good opportunity to launch my first charity campaign alongside the ‘Summerjamlöwen’.

The auction started today on the United Charity website and ends on 17/09/2019, so have fun bidding!
