Today (17 October 2019) at 6 pm the opening of the exhibition ‘Das beseelte Ding – Vom Geist der Gestaltung’ will take place at the Museum Folkwang in Essen. This is a group exhibition in which I am participating with my ‘Vivid Liquids’ machine ‘Haeckel’ and a video installation. It is an exhibition of the Folkwang University of the Arts in co-operation with the Museum Folkwang.
It brings together objects, visualisations and conceptual works by teachers and students of the Folkwang University of the Arts. We explore the question of whether and in what way the concepts of a ‘modern’ artistic-aesthetic (training) education formulated at the Bauhaus, among others, are still relevant or of interest to today’s teachers and students after 1918. The term ‘animated’ unites different creative approaches and aspects as well as the speculative question of the soul, the essence of things.
