Sponk is already planning his next impressive action for a good cause. This time, an impressive lion will be created live at the Summerjam Festival in Cologne. The audience will have the unique opportunity to experience the renowned graffiti artist Sponk up close as he creates this work of art. The Summerjam Fesival 2023 will take place from 30.06. – 02.07.2023.
The lion, which symbolises strength, pride and protection, will carry Sponk’s message. The artwork will be created during the festival and visitors will witness the creative process as colours and shapes merge to create an impressive image.
As with his previous campaigns, Sponk will auction off the artwork for a good cause after the live performance. This time, all the proceeds will be donated to two aid organisations: Help Jamaica and Viva con Agua.
Help Jamaica is an organisation that works to improve living conditions in Jamaica. They support projects in the areas of education, health, environmental protection and social justice. Their work aims to sustainably improve the quality of life of local people.
Viva con Agua is a non-profit organisation that campaigns for worldwide access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation. They carry out various projects and initiatives to provide people in developing countries with clean water and raise awareness of this important resource.
Supporting these two organisations allows Sponk to have a broader impact on the wellbeing of people in Jamaica and access to clean water worldwide. Through his art, he creates a connection between art lovers and a commitment to social justice and sustainability.
The Lion’s live creation process at Summerjam Festival will undoubtedly be an exciting and inspiring experience for all festival goers. It will be an opportunity to experience first-hand the power of art and the importance of social engagement, and to actively participate by taking part in the auction of the artwork.
Sponk’s dedication to protecting nature and using his talent for a good cause make him an inspiring artist who wants to make a positive change in the world. By supporting Help Jamaica and Viva con Agua, he is helping to improve people’s lives and provide access to basic resources.
This will be Sponk’s sixth time painting live at the Summerjam Festival, spraying a giant lion each time. An impressive example of this is last year’s auction. From 1 to 3 July, around 30,000 fans celebrated Europe’s biggest reggae festival, which was taking place for the 35th time. As part of this festival, artist Sponk created absolutely unique works of art every year: giant, spray-painted lions.
