On 27 July 2024, guitarist Paul Landers went on a special bike tour during the Rammstein concerts at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen. He visited the impressive mural by artist Sponk in the Gelsenkirchen-Resse district. The artwork shows a monumental Rammstein logo that appears to break out of the façade and covers an area of 5 square metres.
Sponk, a well-known graffiti artist from Gelsenkirchen, created this impressive work in 2012 and since then it has become a well-known landmark within the Rammstein fan community and regularly attracts fans who come to see it. The artwork is even listed as a ‘Rammstein façade’ on Google Earth.
The visit by Paul Landers emphasises the importance of the artwork and the bond between the band and its fans. Sponk was proud and delighted to have his work recognised by a member of the band.
This event highlights the close relationship between Rammstein and their fan base and the appreciation of artwork inspired and created by fans.
